We are very excited to start work on designing and delivering a large 100 space bike shed for the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership with structural carpenters, EmanuelHendry.
Part of the University of Cambridge, CISL has just completed an ambitious retro-fit of the Entopia Building 🡢 in the heart of the city. Designed by Architype the building achieved BREEAM Outstanding, the Passivhaus ‘Enerphit’ standard and Well Gold certifications. So they couldn’t procure an off the shelf steel bikeshed! Inspired by our work on Forest Home, CISL appointed MillsPower and EmanuelHendry 🡢 (with whom we had previously collaborated) to design and build a bicycle store for staff and visitors. Keeping low-carbon design as a priority we are working on an all-timber structure, using steel only for fixings, with a green roof that staff look out over from the windows of the Entopia Building.
