An impressive, light filled family room connects this Edwardian rectory home with its lovely mature garden in rural Essex

Our client wanted a bright, daylit space for entertaining and family life. All generations of the family gather here to chat, cook, eat and hang out, the sliding doors making it easy to move in and out to the terrace. It is a light and airy room with a tall pyramidal roof light that captures the sky and a patch of sunlight above. The structure is a slender steel frame sitting just inside the triple glazed Skyframe units. These create a sleek enclosure with minimal framing, especially extraordinary are the corners which have glass to glass junctions giving a clear view of the garden.

Outside, the glazing reflects the cottage garden planting and on sunny days and at dusk, the new building blends into its setting with the steeply sloping slate roof floating above the eaves. The modernity of the new extension pavilion sits well alongside the soft red brick of the rectory and gives the family modern free flowing space alongside their traditional living rooms.

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
